Report a Pothole in Stafford

Potholes on roads in and around Stafford are the responsibility of Staffordshire County Council, the local highways authority. Reporting one takes a couple of minutes — and reports are what get roads onto the repair schedule.

Motorways and major A-roads

Motorways and some trunk A-roads are maintained by National Highways, not the council — report problems on those roads there instead.

Pothole damaged your car?

If a pothole damages your wheel, tyre or suspension, you may be able to claim from Staffordshire County Council. Photograph the pothole (with something for scale), note the exact location and date, keep repair receipts, and submit a claim through the council. Claims are often refused where the council didn't know about the defect — which is another reason reporting matters.
