Staffordshire County Council says it is delivering real improvements for residents in the first quarter of the financial year. The council has completed all emergency road repairs on time, finished over 9,600 health checks to support long-term health outcomes, and helped more people into jobs through its Jobs and Careers Service.
Customer satisfaction with the council remains high at 90%.
Investment in Roads and Special Education
The council is investing an extra £15m in road improvements this year. It is also spending £1m on a new campus for children with special educational needs in Stafford, and over £10m on recycling centres.
A new Post-16 Centre for Walton Hall Special School in Stafford is due to open in September.
Trading Standards and Financial Pressures
Trading Standards has prevented £23m of harm to residents over the past year.
Council leaders acknowledged ongoing financial pressures, particularly in children's services, but said the authority remains focused on delivering for Staffordshire communities.
