Stafford Rangers have secured their place in the FA Cup first round after a 5-0 victory over Gateshead in Tuesday's fourth qualifying round replay at Marston Road.

The eighth-tier side came from behind to book their spot in round one. Gateshead, bottom of the fifth-tier National League, had held Stafford to a 1-1 draw in Saturday's initial tie. Stafford's goals came from Scott Bakkor, Darryl Mason, Mitch Clarke, Joe Dunne and Jack Birch.

Gateshead's caretaker boss Ben Clark apologised to the club's supporters after the defeat, saying his side were "miles off it".

First time in 20 years

This is the first time Stafford Rangers have reached the FA Cup first round in 20 years.

Stafford are one of two eighth-tier sides remaining in the competition. The other is AFC Rushden & Diamonds, who will visit Burton Albion in round one.
