Stafford's main community venues are undergoing significant improvements thanks to a £200,000 investment programme delivered by Stafford Borough Council and Freedom Leisure. Four key sites across the town have been selected for modernisation, with work designed to enhance facilities and ensure venues remain fit for the future.
The Ancient High House will receive new carpeting and upgraded display infrastructure for exhibitions. The Gatehouse Theatre is getting fresh seating, new external lighting, improved security and better access. Rowley Park Sports Stadium will benefit from brand new LED lighting and goal posts for the 3G pitch. At Stafford Leisure Centre, heating and cooling systems are being upgraded with new air conditioning units, and the wet-side entrance is being redesigned.
Councillor Gillian Pardesi highlighted the council's commitment to maintaining quality amenities for residents. Freedom Leisure's Area Manager Alistair Gould added that the upgrades will enhance the experience for customers and keep Stafford's venues welcoming and fit for the future.
These improvements demonstrate investment in Stafford's leisure infrastructure at a time when community venues play a vital role in local life. The upgrades across theatres, sports facilities and leisure centres will benefit residents who rely on these spaces for entertainment, fitness and cultural activities.
