A £255,000 highways improvement scheme is launching in Cheadle next week, affecting the A521 Delphouse Road and Brickhouse Road junction. Work begins Monday 29 June and is expected to last around four weeks. Temporary traffic lights will manage traffic flow during the project, though local residents will retain access to their homes.
The initial phase involves resurfacing the road, repairing kerbs and ironworks across both routes. Stafford Council has implemented traffic lights to keep the work site safe while minimizing disruption to Cheadle residents and through-traffic.
The most significant disruption will occur later in the scheme. Between Monday 20 July and 27 July, overnight road closures will operate between 7pm and 6am, forcing drivers to use designated diversions while resurfacing work concludes. Stafford drivers are advised to plan alternative routes during these dates.
Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways North, stated the council is doing "all we can to minimise disruption" and thanked residents in advance for their patience. The improvements form part of Stafford's ongoing investment in local road infrastructure.
