Staffordshire residents aged 40 to 74 are being urged to take advantage of free NHS Health Checks rolling out across the county. The 20 to 30-minute sessions are run by Everyone Health Staffordshire and can identify early warning signs of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and high blood pressure before any symptoms develop.

Everyone who attends receives a personalised heart age card showing whether their heart is younger, older or the same as their actual age. This simple assessment could help Stafford residents catch serious health conditions at an early stage, potentially preventing life-threatening complications down the line.

Martin Rogerson, the council's Cabinet Member for Health and Care, is backing the scheme. He experienced a heart attack at 47 and understands the importance of early detection. "These conditions can develop without symptoms, so this quick check could make a life-saving difference," he said.

Pop-up clinics are already scheduled across Stafford and the wider region from this week onwards. Residents can also book monthly appointments through the Everyone Health Staffordshire website. To request a callback to arrange your free health check, text HEART to 60777.
