Pupils at Cooper Perry Primary School in Seighford marked harvest with farm machinery, a scarecrow competition and welly-wanging.

The school says the celebration on 21 October brought its rural community and farming families together, giving children a chance to see tractors and a harvester up close.

A whole-school scarecrow competition ran alongside the machinery visit, with pupils also taking part in a welly-wanging competition.

Headteacher Clair Callow said the event was intended to help children understand where food comes from and the part farming plays in their local community.

“We are incredibly grateful to our farming families for helping us bring Harvest to life for the children,” she said in the school’s submitted account.
