A major £950,000 resurfacing project on the A518 Town Meadows Way in Uttoxeter is now complete. Staffordshire County Council finished the seven-week highways overhaul ahead of schedule, delivering improvements to one of the area's busiest routes near Stafford.
The work extended far beyond laying fresh tarmac. Crews repaired damaged kerbs, fixed drains and ironwork, and cleared gullies to reduce flooding risks. All construction work was carried out overnight to minimise disruption to residents and businesses across Stafford and the surrounding region.
Patrick Allen, Staffordshire County Council's Cabinet Support Member for Highways North, highlighted the significance of the investment. He stated that the project demonstrates the council's commitment to maintaining the town's key routes to a high standard.
The A518 improvements mean thousands of daily journeys through Uttoxeter and the Stafford area should now experience better road conditions. The completion ahead of schedule represents efficient project management and investment in local infrastructure that residents rely on every day.
