Families in South Staffordshire are receiving support through the county council's Family Hub, based at Ladywood Primary School in Great Wyrley. The hub serves children, young people and families across a large rural area, with staff working to provide services within local communities rather than requiring families to travel long distances.
Services and Support Available
The hub offers health visiting, midwifery appointments, targeted family support, SEND support and a weekly Youth Hub. A new Leadership and Resilience Programme for young people helps build confidence and emotional awareness, encouraging them to recognise their potential and become positive role models in schools and communities.
For younger children, the hub delivers 0-5 activities and school readiness sessions to help preparation for nursery or school. Parents with school-aged children can access a free school uniform scheme, which provides good quality pre-loved school clothing to families who may benefit from additional support.
Summer Activities Programme
Throughout the summer holidays, a programme of free family activities will run across the district. These include school readiness sessions, stay and play events, family fun days, youth and teen activities and community-based support drop-ins.

Working alongside community organisations, schools, libraries, health partners and voluntary groups means the hub can reach families in villages, towns and rural locations right across South Staffordshire."
